Samsung Galaxy S II telah memecahkan hampir semua rekor penjualan ponsel di Jerman. Menurut peneliti pasar, Galaxy S II menduduki peringkat pertama dalam catatan penjualan smartphone, hanya dua minggu setelah dirilis di Jerman. Dan hingga saat ini telah dimahkotai sebagai ponsel yang paling banyak terjual di pasar ponsel seluruh dunia.
Karena keberhasilan besar Galaxy S II di Jerman, Samsung Electronics mencatat peningkatan pangsa pasar hingga 43,5% untuk segmen smartphone, pangsa pasar tertinggi yang pernah dicapai oleh Samsung sejak memulai bisnis mobile di negara industri ini.
Media lokal menanggapi keberhasilan Galaxy S II dengan ulasan yang sangat baik. Connect, media IT Jerman, memberi anugerah sebagai smartphone terbaik dengan poin review tertinggi hingga total 433, dan menyebutnya sebagai "Masterpiece". Ulasan media lain seperti Amazon.de, ZDNet,de, Netzwelt, Cnet juga memuji Galaxy S II.
